Jonckvrouw 1928
Cruise in style in the old management boat of de Port of Amsterdam
We sail in the former Dutch government boat from 1928, which was used from 1928 to 2015 by prominent figures such as presidents, mayors, and royal families.
The ship has everything you need, in clear weather we open the roof and windows, when rain, we are warm and dry.
A private boat tour is particularly suitable for family, friends, and colleagues (max. 12 guests). You rent the ship with a English speaking local captain.
From €215 per hour – minimum purchase 90 minutes.

Private cruise at a time that suits you best, with drinks and snacks. Min. duration 90 minutes.

Light Festival cruise, the winter event in Amsterdam. A private cruise with 1st class view.
The boat was used for most of its existence as a management ship for promotional purposes of the city and the port. After replacement, she went to a foundation that renamed the saloon boat Jonckvrouw and completely restored it.
Highlight of our Europe trip!! Me and my family are from Alaska and we spent two weeks in Europe and this tour was everyone's highlight of our trip. The tour guide was great and the boat is beautiful!!! I would highly recommend it as the FIRST thing you do in Amsterdam so you can get recommendations for things to do, and not do, and places to eat from a local. Both our kids 6 years old and 13 years old said it was their favorite thing we did in Europe.
A small boat canal trip is a must do in Amsterdam! Gisela gave us a great tour which was tailored to our group’s questions and interests. The boat was comfortable, the cake and coffee were yummy, and Gisela’s friendly and knowledgeable tour delivery was a delight! When you’re in Amsterdam, you should definitely check out Captain Dave’s small group tours.
Private tour with Captain Dave Great session. We did a 2 hour private tour with Jan. Got to see things havent seen before. Was on the james bond boat. Very comfortable and enjoyable.
Awesome Morning Canal Cruise My wife & I loved this early-morning cruise .. quiet & no boats on canal! Very calm. Breakfast breads, coffee, juices, water. The smaller boat was extremely comfortable . even had a bathroom! Our driver was a lady who works with Captain Dave . she was awesome! She took us to a few areas “out of the way”. .. so cool. We both loved this canal tour!
A fantastic canal tour Fantastic canal tour - our guide and boat captain was Gisella We cruised on the Royal Jonckvrouw (Young Frau) - a boat rich in history We were (unexpectedly) served sugar bread (a classic Dutch food apparently) orange juice and coffee - I had no idea a breakfast was provided We had a 90 mins guided tour around the north west and central canals with Gisella who gave an excellent tour of the surrounding area. She was very knowledgeable about the history and context of the entire area.A wonderful morning canal cruise - 5 out 5 stars!
Great boat for a great cruise The James Bond is a great looking boat. It was comfortable and well fitted, but small enough for Jan, our host, to take us places some of the bigger boats cant get to. Wine, cold drinks and nibblies were provided. Jan was freindly, entertaining and informative. My family and I all thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. I would highly recommend the cruise to an visitor to Amsterdam.
James Bond tour We had an amazing time!! Jan was so knowledgeable, funny & great at sharing interesting facts about sites as we passed them. He made it a trip to remember very fondly. I would definitely recommend it.
Book this delightful canal cruise! Wonderful! We were not loving Amsterdam but this cruise gave us a different perspective. There were only 6 of us on the boat and we got so much information and got to ask questions. We enjoyed complimentary drinks, coffee and delicious traditional sugar bread. Our captain, Gisela, was lovely, interesting and made us feel at home on her boat. We took a different , larger canal cruise earlier this week and this was so much better!
Just Do It! Our Morning Canal Cruise with Captain Dave was a wonderful introduction to Amsterdam on our first day. Dave wasn’t there but Jan was and his commentary was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the history of Amsterdam and appreciated his sense of humor. The canals and city were so peaceful in the morning we were really able to enjoy the city. I highly recommend this tour - you will not be disappointed.
Highlight of our trip Thanks to Gisela, this was the highlight of our four days in Amsterdam. Gisela hosted us in such a lovely, relaxed and informative manner, it was like we were cruising with an old friend. We highly recommend the early morning cruise - it was blissfully quiet and it allowed us to soak up the beauty of the city.
Soooo much fun and definitely worth it!! We absolutely loved this!! It was honestly such a brilliant way to see Amsterdam, and although it was quite expensive , it was definitely worth it!!Our captain was absolutely great — really funny, friendly and sociable, and he made the whole experience so much fun. I also loved that it didn’t really feel like a proper “tour” at all. It was much more relaxed and social, almost like you were just going for a boat ride around Amsterdam with someone who happened to know loads of interesting things about the city . It was still really interesting though, and we learnt loads along the way!And as there were only about 8 of us on the whole boat, the whole thing just had such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The experience was only around 2 hours as well, which was the perfect amount of time to see lots of Amsterdam without it feeling too long or tiring.I’d also definitely recommend booking a slightly later time, around the start of the evening! We found it was much quieter and everything just felt a lot more relaxed and less rushed, which made the whole experience even nicer. As an autistic person, I found it really autism-friendly too as It was calm, relaxed and never felt overwhelming, which I really appreciated !Seeing Amsterdam from the canals was absolutely brilliant. We had such a great time and I’m SO glad we did it!! Certainly one of my favourite things we did in Amsterdam, and I’d 100% recommend it — I’d definitely do it again too!!
Awesome canal ride! Loved our morning canal cruise. Great walk around Amsterdam at 7 am, to get to the location along the canal, literally no one stirring. The captain was very knowledgeable about the area, we learned alot, the captain gave us recommendations for things to do and special places to eat, the boat ride was relaxing. I would definetly recommend this company.
Best way to start the morning Stunning experience, lovely vibe. It was just 6 of us with Gisela who brought the city to life. Loved it and would strongly recommend this to anyone. Small group, morning time, no crowds - we were the only canal cruising
