What a great morning! Our captain Jung(apologies if I misspelled your name) was fantastic. He provided a lot of history, made it a fun trip and even shared some recommendations for the remainder of our trip. Would definitely recommend this cruise over others we saw (which were all crowded). We only had 7 people on our morning cruise.

A small boat canal trip is a must do in Amsterdam! Gisela gave us a great tour which was tailored to our group’s questions and interests. The boat was comfortable, the cake and coffee were yummy, and Gisela’s friendly and knowledgeable tour delivery was a delight! When you’re in Amsterdam, you should definitely check out Captain Dave’s small group tours.

Awesome Morning Canal Cruise My wife & I loved this early-morning cruise .. quiet & no boats on canal! Very calm. Breakfast breads, coffee, juices, water. The smaller boat was extremely comfortable . even had a bathroom! Our driver was a lady who works with Captain Dave . she was awesome! She took us to a few areas “out of the way”. .. so cool. We both loved this canal tour!

A fantastic canal tour Fantastic canal tour - our guide and boat captain was Gisella We cruised on the Royal Jonckvrouw (Young Frau) - a boat rich in history We were (unexpectedly) served sugar bread (a classic Dutch food apparently) orange juice and coffee - I had no idea a breakfast was provided We had a 90 mins guided tour around the north west and central canals with Gisella who gave an excellent tour of the surrounding area. She was very knowledgeable about the history and context of the entire area.A wonderful morning canal cruise - 5 out 5 stars!

Our host was lovely and very knowledgeable. We had a quiet cruise through the canals with delicious coffee, Dutch bread, and mimosas. I would absolutely recommend this cruise over the popular ones.

I had a lovely morning with Jan. He was incredibly friendly, funny and knowledgeable, and the whole cruise felt very relaxed. I especially loved all the little stories he shared about Amsterdam. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and had a great time 🙂

Book this delightful canal cruise! Wonderful! We were not loving Amsterdam but this cruise gave us a different perspective. There were only 6 of us on the boat and we got so much information and got to ask questions. We enjoyed complimentary drinks, coffee and delicious traditional sugar bread. Our captain, Gisela, was lovely, interesting and made us feel at home on her boat. We took a different , larger canal cruise earlier this week and this was so much better!

Just Do It! Our Morning Canal Cruise with Captain Dave was a wonderful introduction to Amsterdam on our first day. Dave wasn’t there but Jan was and his commentary was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the history of Amsterdam and appreciated his sense of humor. The canals and city were so peaceful in the morning we were really able to enjoy the city. I highly recommend this tour - you will not be disappointed.

Highlight of our trip Thanks to Gisela, this was the highlight of our four days in Amsterdam. Gisela hosted us in such a lovely, relaxed and informative manner, it was like we were cruising with an old friend. We highly recommend the early morning cruise - it was blissfully quiet and it allowed us to soak up the beauty of the city.

Awesome canal ride! Loved our morning canal cruise. Great walk around Amsterdam at 7 am, to get to the location along the canal, literally no one stirring. The captain was very knowledgeable about the area, we learned alot, the captain gave us recommendations for things to do and special places to eat, the boat ride was relaxing. I would definetly recommend this company.

Fantastic and very recommandable! It was a fantastic tour through Amsterdam on a pieceful morning with a guide who knew a lot of interesting things to tell and also had answers on any questions coming from the passengers. Personal atmosphere with 11 guests on board, coffee, fresh orange juice, Frisian Suikerbrood. Also the historic boat is beautiful!Very recommandable trip, also if it's more expensive then the normal tours.

We had a wonderful trip down the canals. Our host was fabulous and interacted with everyone. The breads/cakes were delicious! Wonderful morning on the water.

The best way to experience Amsterdam Couldn't recommend this more. The boat tour was amazing and Captain Dave even more so. It was thoroughly enjoyable and very fun. Captain Dave made it very special and memorable. He made it a very unique way of experiencing Amsterdam, getting the interesting 'tourist' history but also anecdotes and insights into what things are like for someone who is living and grown up in Amsterdam. Dave was also kind enough to provide recommendations for places to eat and see. It was the highlight of our trip. Dave was very personable and tailored the entire trip to the group on boat. There was also coffee, cold drinks and sugar cake provided. If you're looking for a canal tour but unsure which tour to go with or whether this would be something you would enjoy I would highly recommend as I don't think you would get this kind of experience and view of Amsterdam anywhere else.

Amazing experience!! This was a beautiful way to see the city. The small group made it very comfortable and easy to ask questions. With fewer boats on the canal (morning cruise), it was easy to take great pictures!

Highly recommend - our guide Ollie was excellent and the early morning tour meant the canals weren’t as busy and the experience was that much better.

We had the pleasure to take our 8am Canal tour with Oli this morning. He was very kind, personable, funny and incredibly knowledgeable with some good stories to tell along the way. I did this tour along with my husband, we were a small group total of 8. This felt nice a private. Oli was hospitable to have us all connect before our departure. Coffee and sugar bread were a nice touch! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something to do in the city 🌟

This was the best canal cruise we could have taken. The host was super knowledgeable and skilled with the vessel. She navigated us around telling us stories and history of this incredible place. I highly recommend the early morning peaceful cruise

Mornings on the canal are peaceful and a perfect way to experience Amsterdam. A lovely, sturdy boat. Covered with windows and roof that open up so wind, rain, and cold aren’t issues. The captain/ guide was personable and created a relaxed atmosphere among the group. A great way to start your Amsterdam trip.

Great morning canal tour Wonderful morning canal tour! It was so quiet on the canal as we were one of the only boats. It’s a small group tour so we didn’t feel crowded and could move around a bit to see better. This also made for great photos! Our guide/boat captain wax full of great information and maneuvered so easily through some tricky spots. The boat itself was beautiful. We arrived in Amsterdam early in the morning and our hotel room wasn’t going to be ready so this was the perfect way to relax and get acquainted with Amsterdam. The food and drinks were great as well. Highly recommend for all ages, my teenage son even enjoyed it.

Can be hard to find, but worth it! Laidback morning with Gisela narrating. Informative tour led by a local. The boat only arrives 5 minutes before departure, so be patient!

We loved our tour this morning. To start, we were provided with delicious “sugar” bread and coffee and got to know the other passages on the tour. The boat was nice because you could move freely between covered and uncovered areas - unlike many of the other canal tours we saw. The guide was knowledgeable and funny - even my teenage daughter was amused and learned a lot. 🙂 Great tour!

Fun captain that was entertaining, funny, and approachable in a small group environment. We had captain Dave himself. He was a delightful mix of providing information about Amsterdam, being funny, and being engaging just talking about his life and his family’s life. He was warm, entertaining, and personable. He clearly enjoys giving tours and talking with people. He also provided information in a natural way and was interested to make the experience unique. The cruise itself was relaxing and fun. The small group environment was great too. He provided snacks. He answered all our questions and engaged us on a wide variety of topics. The boat was comfortable with interesting history. Our group with three adults and two teens had a wonderful time! It was comfortable with the windows down. When it started to drizzle and we closed the windows up it remained comfortable. We highly recommend.

One of the best things we have done while in Amsterdam. Captain Dave, what a legend. We did the morning trip with 5 other people, and had an excellent time. Dave is a proper character, full of good stories, really knowledgeable on the history of the area, multitasker (can make coffee and steer, as I said, legend). He is happy to adapt the tour based on what you prefer. We went out of the tourist areas and into more residential parts, which was really cool. And we never expected to get a good view of a giraffe. Book now, you won’t regret it. BTW Dave said he only really sails the early trips so the morning is the one to book

Excellent Experience - Would Go Again. Highly recommend Captain Dave tours. Our Captain Gisela was great. Gracious, experienced captain, who shared very interesting information with the guests as we cruised the canals in the early morning. We very much enjoyed having the canals almost to ourselves from 8am to 9:30am. We really enjoyed out time aboard. Thank you, Gisela!

Early Morning Fun This was a pleasant break from dealing with the crowded sidewalks and speeding bicycles. The captain was very informative and entertaining. We had good morning snacks while seeing a large part of old Amsterdam.
